Ashanti Brass Hook Frog

$17.00 USD
Size: 5cm Width x 13cm Height

This frog hook will look great in children rooms, why not pair a few together hopping up the wall? These hand-cast brass hooks have been lovingly made in Ghana, using traditional lost wax casting techniques.

Over time our recycled brass hooks will start to tarnish slightly. Some prefer the brass when it becomes darker and more earthy. However you may prefer to restore your hook to its original polished gold tone. The best way to polish your hook is to use a brass polish, we suggest Brasso (Always follow the instructions on the bottle). If you don't have any brass polish to hand, or prefer a more natural alternative, cover half a lemon in salt and rub over the brass until you see the tarnish start to lift, rinse well and polish dry with a soft cloth.

OUR STORY

Artisans & Adventurers aim is to fill the shopper with joy and be the go-to source for contemporary sustainable interior design and jewellery. The brand believes that every purchase can be made consciously to live a stylish sustainable lifestyle.
Founded by craft development expert, Bee Friedmann and designer, Amy Fleuriot-Reade who met whilst walking their dogs in London Fields Park in London in 2011. The pair quickly discovered a common love for design, animals, and sustainability, and set off together on a 6 week adventure to East Africa. It was this trip that provided the inspiration to start Artisans & Adventurers.

Behind every product is a story and a craftsman or woman with whom A&A has a personal relationship. Amy and Bee have travelled extensively to work directly with the individuals and groups involved in the production of the joyful products they sell. They check out the factories and travel to rural areas to make safe practice is taking place. Cutting out as many middlemen as possible and dealing directly with artisans ensures that the products are ethically made and materials are sustainably sourced.
