Wild Olive Wood Butter Knife

$7.00 USD
Size:15.5cm Length x 2cm Width

The elegant, slender design of this sustainably sourced wild olive wood butter knife, makes spreading your butter or vegetable spread a joyful experience.
The hand carved shape makes them equally useful as palette knives for budding artists. What could be better than giving the artful gift of carved utensils to those creating their own masterpieces.

Olive wood has an excellent reputation for being harder and less porous than other woods. We recommend hand washing your wooden utensils with a mild detergent and warm water. Avoid boiling water and dishwashers as high temperatures may cause the wood to expand and split. Always towel dry after washing to prevent moisture cracks. Treat them once a month with a food safe mineral oil (we like to use olive oil). Simply rub in a small amount with a soft cloth to condition the wood and restore its warm, polished look.

OUR STORY

Artisans & Adventurers aim is to fill the shopper with joy and be the go-to source for contemporary sustainable interior design and jewellery. The brand believes that every purchase can be made consciously to live a stylish sustainable lifestyle.
Founded by craft development expert, Bee Friedmann and designer, Amy Fleuriot-Reade who met whilst walking their dogs in London Fields Park in London in 2011. The pair quickly discovered a common love for design, animals, and sustainability, and set off together on a 6 week adventure to East Africa. It was this trip that provided the inspiration to start Artisans & Adventurers.

Behind every product is a story and a craftsman or woman with whom A&A has a personal relationship. Amy and Bee have travelled extensively to work directly with the individuals and groups involved in the production of the joyful products they sell. They check out the factories and travel to rural areas to make safe practice is taking place. Cutting out as many middlemen as possible and dealing directly with artisans ensures that the products are ethically made and materials are sustainably sourced.
