Rhumaa Cacao

Guatemala Ceremonial Cacao (150g)

€11.00 EUR

Ceremonial cacao is a premium, high-grade cacao revered for its rich flavour and cultural significance. Rooted in the ancient traditions of the Maya and Aztec civilizations, this exceptional cacao is more than just a treat—it's a bridge to centuries-old spiritual practices. Historically, these cultures used cacao drinks in ceremonies to celebrate significant life events such as births and marriages, prepare for battles, and offer reverence to their gods.

Difference between TRADITIONAL and COLD-COMPRESSED

Traditional: Cacao nibs are ground into a paste and then shaved. (melting processes) - rich, smooth taste and texture.
Cold-Compressed: Cacao nibs with shell are ground under extreme cold temperatures. Finer and softer in taste. Benefits - preservation of flavour and aroma, maintains nutritional integrity, reduces oxidation, improved texture and mouthfeel and extended shelf life

How to Use Ceremonial Cacao:

  1. Preparation:

    • Start with 40g of ceremonial cacao (the typical ceremonial dose) or a smaller amount if desired.
The standard drink is 15-20g (a tablespoon)
    • Heat water or plant-based milk until warm but not boiling. Use approximately one cup of liquid for each dose of cacao.
  1. Blending:

    • Add the cacao to the warm liquid.
    • Stir continuously until the cacao is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
    • For a richer experience, use a whisk or blender to create a frothy texture.

  2. Enhancement (Optional):

    • Enhance the flavour with natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup.
    • Add other superfoods such as cinnamon, cayenne, or vanilla to taste.
    • Consider including a small amount of coconut oil or nut butter for added creaminess.

  3. Mindful Consumption:

    • Find a quiet, comfortable space to enjoy your cacao.
    • Focus on the experience, savouring the aroma, taste, and warmth.
    • Use this time for meditation, setting intentions, or reflecting on personal growth.

  4. Ceremonial Context:

    • Use ceremonial cacao as part of your personal rituals, whether to start your day with mindfulness, to enhance creative work, or to connect with your inner self.
    • It can also be shared in group settings, creating a communal experience that honours its traditional roots.

By integrating ceremonial cacao into your routine, you not only enjoy a delicious beverage but also connect with a rich cultural heritage, embracing the sacred and life-affirming traditions of ancient Mesoamerican peoples.

RHUMAA CACAO - FROM GUATEMALA

Rooted in the spirit of love and deep respect for Mother Nature, this cacao is farmed in Izabal, Guatemala, which aims to transform and rejuvenate the land. Recognising Guatemala’s historical identity as "the place of many trees," we address the stark reality of deforestation by converting over 700 hectares of barren land into thriving forests. Our unique agroforestry system not only preserves endangered species like Genuine Mahogany and Honduran Rosewood but also produces some of the highest-quality cacao on the market. With over 625,000 trees planted and a commitment to quality through our onsite laboratory, we blend traditional Mayan values with innovative agricultural practices, leading by example in sustainable farming.

Our dedication extends beyond the environment to the people who make our mission possible. We foster a familial atmosphere, providing our workers with enhanced living standards, healthcare, and affordable medicine. Our commitment to social responsibility is evident in our ongoing support for neighbouring communities, improving lives through various impactful projects. As we continue to champion regenerative agriculture, our goal is to produce the finest organic cacao in Guatemala. Through our efforts, we aim to inspire a global shift towards sustainable practices, leaving a lasting, positive legacy for future generations.
