Origins
Urban Veda was established in London in 2013 by Sheilesh Shah. Born in Kenya to Indian parents, he was brought up on Ayurvedic herbal practices and was inspired by the powerful properties of plants. As a family run business, his mission was to bring the natural majesty of Ayurveda to a modern world through ‘Urban’ Veda.
Ethos
Our objective has always been to formulate products of the finest quality. This includes skincare, body care, and accessories for our holistic wellbeing. We explore widely to source sustainable plant-based ingredients and ensure 100% recyclable materials for our packaging.
Inspiration
We are inspired by age-old traditional herbal remedies, mixed with a twist of modernity, to create products which help maintain our skin’s natural balance. The Urban Veda range has been formulated using natural ingredients and the principles of Ayurveda in a relevant way for 21st century skin care complaints to ‘pollution proof’ skin leaving it less vulnerable to the environment.
- All our products are free from GM ingredients, parabens, SLS, animal-derived ingredients, microbeads and mineral oil.
- All our oils are Certified Cosmos Natural.
- All of our products are Certified Vegan by the Vegetarian Society.
- As a holistic brand we don’t, and will never test on animals. We are Certified Cruelty-Free by PETA.
- All our packaging is recyclable, and our bottles are made out of post-consumer recycled plastic. We’re proud of our sourcing provenance and all of our cartons are Forest Sustainability Certified.
