Ponch was founded by Sophie Mollison and Alexander Edwards. Moving from Australia to the UK, we had to learn to love the unpredictable weather. The idea for Ponch was sparked by inconvenience: Sophie was forced into an ugly poncho at Glastonbury, Alexander was frustrated by bulky outerwear on a camping trip. We love bold prints, and Ponch is a catalyst — and ulterior motive — to work with the artists we admire.
Sophie has worked in the fashion industry as a graphic and print designer. Experience within the industry has made her acutely aware of — and concerned with — high levels of production waste, and unethical practices within the supply chain. Alexander has worked in the music industry as both a musician and as "the data guy" in the publishing sector. He is an avid outdoorsman.
Ponch meets at the intersection of our passions: music, design and nature.
Our Australian roots mean we have a lifelong love of the sea. Now based in Margate, every day we see plastic pollution wash ashore — we are committed to fighting the systems that promote this tide of trash.
We welcome you to #packaponch.
